Is there Wi-Fi / internet?

Wi-Fi at the venue is FREE. Exhibitors can get internet connection at their stand by pre-ordering through the customer center. 

How can I be a part of ALEC?

You can be a part of ALEC by participating as an exhibitor, visitor, delegate or as a sponsor.

Is the entry to the exhibition free?

Yesvisitors can attenALEC for free. However, the event is strictly for conference delegates and trade professionals only

From which countries do you expect to attract international visitors for the live event?

For the Live event, we expect about 85% of the audience from Ethiopia. Following very positive talks with regional partners, we expect a lot of attendance from East African Countries. 

What is the total number of exhibitors and attendees you expect at the Live event?

We are expecting around 100+ exhibitors and aiming about 3,000+ attendee participation at the Live, in-person event. 

Are giveaways permitted or discouraged?

We would discourage exhibitors from having giveaways on their stand to keep touchpoints at a minimum. However, certain exceptions could be made if the items are individually packed, sanitized and safe for everyone to use. 

When will the Online platform be launched to set up meetings?

The Online platform will be live in August to access and set up your personal profiles for networking and work on your official company profile. A complete and detailed profile for the company will enable the matchmaking system to connect you with your relevant audience. 

What are the procedures to enter Addis Ababa?

All visitors entering Addis Ababa must take a PCR test up to a maximum of 72 hours prior to travelling and provide the negative PCR COVID-19 certificate which must be printed in English no SMS or digital certificates will be accepted.

Are there any changes to build and break down procedures?

There will be no working overnight to allow for fumigation and sanitization of the halls for the next day. 

What measures are being followed at the event?

As a minimum, all our events follow the five key commitments: Ensuring personnel and personal safety, enable physical distancingIncrease health and safety measures, implement crowd control, Encourage and Enforce measures to following the guidance of government or official local authorities and any venue-specific regulations. 

What if I get sick during the event at ALEC?

If visitor tests positive for COVID-19 they must contact the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) where they will be contacted for further action in compliance with the government procedures. Contact EPHA 

If I am already vaccinated, will I need to take the PCR test?

Currently, negative PCR tests will still be required for all including those vaccinated coming into Ethiopia. Make sure to keep abreast of the country regulations as there will be updates closer to the show and this could change. 

What are the social distancing measures in place?

All our events will follow the Frame work and guidelines prepared by the Ethiopian Events and Exhibition Organizers Association adopted from UFI and ICCA.  
There are several social distancing measures all over the venue. Floor stickers in all common areas of the venue and digital screens to spread awareness of what the safety guidelines are going to be in place. 

Will there be sanitizers available?

Sanitizers have been installed at key locations: at entrances to the premises, at entrances to halls and meeting rooms, in F&B outlets, in washrooms, in service yard restrooms and in all meeting, rooms used for internal and external meetings. 

Are there any Covid-19 test available?

Tests are available 24/7 in coordination with recognized medical laboratories at the Skylight Hotel. 

Are masks mandatory?

Yes, face masks are mandatory at all times by law !
